Before buying a preparation, read carefully the composition on the label and compare it with several other cosmetics. What should a cream contain to moisturize the skin completely?
It is believed that a higher price of a beauty product is a guarantee of better efficiency. It often happens that creams contain similar ingredients and a high price is a matter of prestige of the brand. It does not mean, however, that on the market there are no high-end creams which are actually more effective and efficient. Effective moisturizers should contain amino acids, urea, squalene, linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, allantoin, and D-panthenol. In order to make the action of cream noticeable, it should be used regularly, remembering to apply a layer of cream on skin previously cleansed.
Contrary to a common opinion, moisturizing creams do not hydrate but only prevent the loss of moisture. They contain ingredients which inhibit evaporation and bind water in the skin. These include, e.g., glycerin or panthenol. The conviction that the skin gets dry in the summer is wrong. In the winter, when we are exposed to cold wind and low temperatures, it is even much more vulnerable to dry. Creams for the summer have a lighter, more liquid consistency than preparation which are used in the winter. These are thick and heavy because their task is to cover the skin with a protective layer, which is to protect it against the wind and negative external factors.
If you have fat skin, it does not at all mean that you do not have to moisturize it. Using creams and lotions which inhibit seborrhea dries it even more. Find in a drugstore or pharmacy a moisturizing cream with zinc (cleansing), active silver (relieving inflammation), vitamin A, and oils. Regular skin also needs an optimal dose of moisturizing. Happily, those who have it can pick and choose from creams which are rich in lanolin, paraffin oil, argan oil, and wax. Dry skin will require special care from you. A moisturizing cream is a principle of daily care; it can contain aloe vera, shea butter, petrolatum, and urea. Cram should have a thicker consistency so that it can be slowly absorbed by the skin.
